What is the best software to rip a CD to mp3,ogg etc?

another vote for winamp pro, it can do really high quality MP3 encoding

Ok, so Winamp Pro. Is it fast ? or does it take ages to do ?

I cant see it taking any longer than any other software, it will depend on the bitrate you encode it with, what format you encode it with, and how fast your CD drive can spin a CD.

As a rough estimate though, encoding a 60min CD, to mp3, with a 196bitrate should take aproximately 3 minutes. Pretty fast by all acounts

it depends on, your cpu, cd drive speed, and ram mostly as it needs to process and convert the audio
