Hi there,

My mum is the manager of a carehome for the elderly, which also has dementia care. She would like to be able to setup playlists for each individual resident of music they like, and then to have smart speakers in every resident's room and in the communal areas.

The use case would then be for a carer to be able to walk into a resident's room and say "Alexa/Google/Siri/whatever play Dave's playlist". But to also have this capability on any of the speakers in the home, e.g. if Dave is in the lounge to play Dave's playlist on the lounge speakers.

One spotify account with a bunch of playlists named '<Residents> playlist' would work, but I doubt you can have multiple streams going in different rooms on a single account. You could have multiple accounts set up, but then every account would need to have every resident's playlist. And then when you get a new resident, or want to add/remove music from an existing playlist you have to edit them everywhere and it becomes a bit of a pain, admittedly I haven't used spotify in a while.

I'm sure personal spotify account(s) are not the solution here. Does anyone have any suggestion of something that would work in the above use case? Thanks.

Amazon unlimited and Alexa-powered speakers would work. Allows you to play different music on each speaker, or combine them into groups/zones to all play the same thing
