Hi, It's my little boys 1st birthday on Sunday and I've been trying to compile an album of party songs for him.

I want to put the album I've compiled onto my iphone and then plug it into some portable speakers but whenever I load the album on, itunes splits it into individual songs so they are all over the place and wont play in sequence.

I assume it has something to do with id3 tagging but what exactly do I need to do to get the songs to go onto my iphone in some kind of order ?
Which parts of the id3 info do I actually have to make sure is edited and which parts can I leave ?

Any help in getting some kind of cohesive album would be very much appreciated !

Thanks.

If you highlight all the songs you want in the album, you can right click and select "Get Info". It'll bring up a dialog box about modifying more than one item, just select okay.

Then type in the 'Albums' field whatever you want the album to be called. Then it will put all the songs you've selected into that album.

Rather than trying to make it as an album, try making a playlist and adding the songs in manually, then you can re-arrange them in the order you want and then when you sync, just select the playlist rather than the album.

They will still be listed as individual songs in the library. I hate having individual songs in my library, so I always throw them in an album.

Don't want to hijack the thread but it's like the same problem.

In my iTunes, all of those songs are under one album (Sensation 2004 Black), I even changed them all to something different as a test. But on my iPhone there's like a new album for every artist on the album, so each one of those you see (there's more as well) has like 1/2 songs on.
Not sure why this is.

I think you have to tell iTunes that it's a compilation album by ticking the box in the info window. Can't test it at the moment as I'm at work.
