Hi,

Anyone got any good old hardcore music (definately not happy hardcorde), like RATPACK or anything from the ole moon dances etc etc???

Alternatively some slow drum n bass music? or like skater music, like the ole style of limpbizkit??

Or can point me in the right direction??? bands etc etc

Something like Hey bartender by Head PE....esp when it starts unlike the end when it goes a bit OTT for my liking.....

Just need some funky tunes..

Thanks for any help and suggestions....

This, I can do. You need The Dust Junkys, Pitchshifter and Dub War. Well, Dub War might be a bit aggro for you on the main releases, the dub remixes are harder to find. But you definately need the Dust Junkys. MC Tunes!

I've no idea who Head PE are but if you're talking about the same Ratpack as I know then you want to look for anything released by Fantazia before 93/94. Slipmatt, Carl Cox, DJ Sy - granted most of the good stuff exists only on 5th generation C90s but there are some good CDs out there.

That's what I call old hardcore anyway, I've no idea what those guys^^ are on about so I could be well off.

Guys recommending SOIA etc... He's not talking about that sort of hardcore, I think.

something like hed pe? i think he is talking about that sort of hardcore

There's an "alternatively" in there. Ratpack were (are?) an oldschool hardcore team...

Ratpack

So no. Not talking about our sort of hardcore :)

xirokx, check out Skindred as well... Skyscraper, "Superstate". And Bullyrag, long departed but they were a good laugh. Maybe give the Mad Capsule Markets a look. Fear Factory, maybe- the Remanufacture album. And Broken by Nine Inch Nails. And, it's a long shot, Refused: Shape of Punk to Come. You'll either love that one or hate it ;) Download "New Noise" for a sample. And also "Atari Teenage Riot 2" by Atari Teenage Riot. Can't recommend you buy the album, but that song's storming. Maybe Senser? Can't think where to start with them.

And for the straighter nu-metal/skatey stuff, the Korn greatest hits would be worth a gander. Papa Roach's Infest was better than anyone remembers, I think... Hmm, some A but I can't think what album. Hifi Serious or How Ace Are Buildings. OPM are cheesy as anything, but then so are Hed PE. Spineshank, probably, they never really made an impression on me. Linkin Park, just because they're popular doesn't mean they're rubbish. Eh, maybe Suicidal Tendancies, I think they're more or less hopeless but some people rate them. The Workhorse Movement.

Refused are excellent :D 'The Shape Of Punk To Come' is a quality album. (hed)p.e. aren't hardcore really...Skindred are excellent too, and totally agree with Mad Capsule Markets..pity they split :( Glad I got to see them tho.

Ah hah, good point, I meant to say Shape of Punk to Come. Did you ever hear Dub War? Benji from Skindred's old band. I reckon their album Pain eats Babylon alive, personally.

Bit of a coincedence, Hed Pe and Skindred just played Rock City a couple of weeks ago - not bad. Clawfinger might be worth checking out.
