Musicmatch replacement needed!

I don't often buy much in the way of new music. Most of my old CDs I imported to my PC as MP3s some time ago. I have decided that I want to add my recent new music on CD to my computer. I used to use Musicmatch, but it won't work with my Vista x64 install.

Also Muscimatch has become Yahoo Music. I don't want to have to register and have logins to play my music and I really try to avoid using anything Microsoft if I can help it!

Any good, quick, free MP3 encoders out there that are reliable and won't open up my PC to corruption, virus attack etc?

Out of the Frying Pan into the Fire!... Musicmatch was bad enough!... iTunes (unless you absolutely need it for an iPod..) is the Devils work!!..

Get a copy of Winamp (v5.54) on there!!.. its far superior to the other two!..

Plus, if you have one, it will do the iPod bits out of the box (like iTunes) but for better control get the 'mlipod.dll' plugin!!...

For just plain mp3 encoding get a copy of EAC and LAME... I've not found anything better!!... though winamp will do encoding too!!.. Though for its full 'unlimited' ripping speed you have to buy it!.. not sure how much it is now but I paid £14 about 10 years ago!!..

(now I await the Foobar crew to come along and dis me like I did iTunes)
