Must have 3ds games vs Must have Vita Games

Okay I know I am probably comparing chalk and cheese here now but does anyone have a list of the "must have" games for the 3ds and vita.

Off the top of my head I can name a few games that I would have with a 3ds but I can not think of a single one for Vita. (which is a shame because i have ps+)
 
As far as 3DS and Vita only games go (excluding DS and PSP, and multiplatform releases), I'd go for the following:

3DS

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Tales of the Abyss

Vita

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 Golden
WipEout 2048
Escape Plan
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
mavity Rush
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Little Big Planet
Dynasty Warriors NEXT
Shinobido 2

Those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head, will add more when they come to me :p

Thank you sir! I must be out of my depth with Vita I have hardly heard of those. I have heard of the 3DS games.

Pokemon and Mario were another two I was thinking.

You're welcome :) I know there are more that I'm missing, can feel them sitting at the back of my mind! Left out some multiplatform titles like Virtue's Last Reward, Resident Evil: Mercenaries, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, etc. as I thought it'd be best to restrict the list to exclusives or ports that've had added features like Ninja Gaiden. If you're after some Vita titles I highly recommend getting Persona 4, and Disgaea 3 as they're the games I've spent the most time on on the Vita by far. They were fantastic games when they were on PS2 and PS3 (respectively), but their enhanced Vita ports have only made them better.

Also got some new titles coming like Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (3DS) and Soul Sacrifice (Vita) coming out soon which are looking great. Also seriously cannot wait for Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD (Vita), and Phantasy Star Online 2 (Vita) :D

super mario 3d land (!!!)
resident evil: revelations
layton and the miracle mask

edit: zero escape: virtue's last reward is also amazing.

Later this year, pokemon x/y

maybe lego city undercover, but thats debatable..

Donkey kong country 3d later this year will likely be very good.

resident evil: revelations not really an exclusive seeing as it's coming out on consoles.

This wasn't even on my radar. I'm somewhat behind on my gaming news at the moment.

Althought a massive fan of DKC1, 2, 3 & 64 I wasn't that impressed by Returns on the Wii. As a stand alone game it was good fun, but didn't have the magic of the previous 4.
 
Can't believe I forgot about Fire Emblem: Awakening! :p I eventually had to stop putting myself through the torture of reading sites like Kotaku while waiting for the EU release.
 
I just bought my son a 3DS XL for his b-day

I got him Mario Kart 7, Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Paper Sticker and Zelda Orcarina

I will probably end up getting Star Fox, Pilot Wings and Super Mario 3D Land and maybe Luigi's mansion.
 
luigi's mansion is simply the best game on the 3DS, awesome game full of character, fun, and challenging gameplay with excellent soundtrack.

And you didn't even mention pullblox!! And before ZE:VLR get ZE:999 for the DS

As for Vita 'must have games' ehhh Persona 4, MGS HD, Lumines. Well if you have a vita get PS+ especially if you also have a PS3.
 
ocarina of time is well worth a play through if you haven't already, it takes a couple of hours to pick up some pace but when it does its hard to put down :)

luigi's mansion 2 is also very good and actually quite funny, strongly recommended
