Must have PS3 games?

Hi there,

I bought a PS3 the other day as a Blu-Ray player.
I already have a 360 and all the games I'm currently interested in but I really have no idea which games to get for the PS3.

I had a PS2 so I'm familiar with the FF series but aside from that I really don't know where to start.

Can anyone recommend a top five games for the PS3?

You're pushing your luck asking for 5 :p

Motorstorm is all you need (and also the only thing worth having). Providing you haven't got the 360 version The Darkness is worth a purchase when it's released next week ;)

I'd recommend Oblivion and The Darkness, but those are on the 360. You're really pushing your luck asking for 5 Playstation3 games.
 
5 PS3 games? Can't do that.

All I can name is Oblivion, Motorstorm and Virtua Fighter 5. Of which, superior versions of Oblivion and Virtua Fighter 5 are/will be found on other platforms.

But it won't be long now until the PS3 hots up.
 
Not gonna happen :)

The best so far in no particular order:

Motorstorm - Mindless racing game with a good view
Resistance Fall of Man - Great multiplayer shame about the Singleplayer
Ridge Racer 7 - Great looks and gameplay, shame about the physics!
FlOw - wow... its addictive!

Motorstorm has a bad frame rate and is only 720P, big dissapointment in that respect, but fun good looking game while it lasts.

Shame about the physics in Ridge Racer 7? sure why not try to make it realistic like the other 101 driving games and just call it Mountain Driving experience?
If they invented a real race series with Ridge Racer style handling and speed it would probably be the most popular form of motorsport today, if you dont have an ego Ridge Racer 7 is the most exhilarating racing game there is, certainly the best frame rate and the cars are more interesting than the ones parked on the street outside.

Amen to that, Ridge Racer is so much more fun due to the physics, its remotely original.
 
If you already have a 360 there really is no must-have games for the PS3 that aren't either on the PC or 360.

Resistance is alright, personally I didn't even bother finishing the mediocre campaign and multiplayer didn't grip me for long.

Motorstorm is a good blast bit of a lack of content though, I'd say it's a must play more than a must have.

Edit: Oh yeah, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, good title if you haven't played the original on Xbox.

I agree, the must have system seller games aren't there for PS3 yet (didn't stop me picking up a PS3 bundle for £245 this week though ;). Resistance was a bit disappointing after having played a load of great shooters on 360 already. I'll be picking up Ninja Gaiden for sure as I loved it on Xbox. Not really sure what else to get. I grabbed Super Stardust HD and Flow based on reviews and I'm happy with my purchase. Fun downloadable titles.
 
F1 Championship Edition - Brilliant game if your into F1
Motorstorm - Good fun game
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Really good, but really hard
Virtua Fighter 5 - Great for having mates around
Rainbow 6 Vegas - Really good fun game, terrorist hunts with mates/online are brilliant
