Hi, my dad has bought a PS3 to go with our new HDTV. He also plays on my 360, so we have a few games on the 360. What are the top games for the PS3 at the moment?

Currently Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Assassins Creed & Call Of Duty 4 are worthy purchases. If you want some older exclusives then Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Resistance, F1 & Motorstorm are all also good.

Skate is also amazing!

Had a lot of fun on cod4 and motorstorm last night on rookies ps3, however the best game of the night was multiplayer calling all cars from the PSN, excellent game!

Ratchet and Clank
Unreal Tounament 3
Tekken 5 (PSN game)
SuperStardust HD (PSN game)
Warhawk (PSN or disc game).

I'll stick with my list thanks ;).
Isn't Assassin's Creed supposed to be really repetitive?
Genuine question, it looks like my sort of game, but the reviews have been universally lukewarm for it, so haven't bothered grabbing it.
Same goes for Skate, I was under the impression that the PS3 version was almost unplayable at some points due to dropped frames?
Another game I was looking forward to, but held off due to the the vast swathe of poor reviews.

My friend has assasins creed and said it stuttered for him all the way through (although i believe there is a patch out to stop that now).. I've got it on the xbox360 and would say: If u see a nice price get it, otherwise rent.

The PS3 version of Skate is quite a bit worse than the Xbox360, but it's bound to still be a good game.
Assassins Creed I felt came in for some unfair stick, yes it's repetative, but most games are. It had a very strong story line and I enjoyed the progression and scale of the game.
Give it a go, it's a marmite game but there's only one way to see if you'll like it. Personally I really enjoyed it.

My 'Must Haves' Would be

The Darkness
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Heavenly Sword
Uncharted
Ratchet and Clank
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Call of Duty 4
Unreal Tournament 3
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Warhawk
Super Stardust HD
Tekken 5 Online
Oblivion
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Orange Box (If you don't have a PC)

Got Assassin's Creed on the way which could also be a contender :)

I use the same list everytime this gets asked, So much so it's now saved in a notepad in My documents :p

Drake's Fortune - A must own game for any PS3 gamer
Ratchet and Clank - I love to pieces
Oblivion GOTY
Heavenly Sword
Warhawk
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Motorstorm and RFOM - Both launch titles but both excellent games.

You know 'Must Have' means "You must own it" and I'd say a lot of those you don't need to own it. "Must have" is different to "Should play", for me the only "Must have" are Uncharted, Oblivion, The Orange Box, The Darkness, Motorstorm and Call of Duty 4.
I'd recommend playing all the others, but I wouldn't say tgat someone should spend their well earned cash on them.

ARGH! How do people like Warhawk (with the worst animation ever) and Resistance to the standard of 'must own' I'll never know. My heads gonna explode :p.

The thing about warhawk is its all about game play, Graphics don't hurt me in the slightly nor do animations, It's like playing Unreal tournament 2004, Which is one of my best ever multiplayer games, And warhawk to me mimics what was great in unreal.

It's ironic that you only complaint seems to be the animation, when at other times games are criticised you go on about graphics over gameplay.

Warhawk is a superb game that many people play every night, and cannot be judged by the very limited amount of hours you have probably racked up on it, only to slate it at every opportunity (ironically I have racked up plenty of hours and use every opportunity to praise it!! :D).

Buy a headset, organise a game and invite some OcUK people and have a game.
