Ok apologies in advance as I know this has been asked many times before, however, Totalwar MediEval II has turned up today (also play BF2) and my current system (X800Pro) really isn't up to the job. I'm not going to get into the pros and cons of DX10 right now, instead I've decided to buy an interim DX9 card now, and then later upgrade. Obviously not worth spending a fortune as I'm planning to use the card for no more than a year (and in that time DX9 cards will hardly be worth anything), until I do a major upgrade.

So bearing that in mind, and that my current gaming resolution is 1280x960 (although I would like to be able to turn up most graphics settings), what would be the best solution:

X1950 Pro 256MB @ £130
7900GTO 512MB @ £170

Before anyone suggests the X1900XT, have a good quality 400w Zalman psu, should be up to the job of powering the pro and gto, but may struggle with the xt, and would rather not have to also upgrade the psu. So which one would you go for....?

if it is an intrem card you want why pay the extra on the gto? get a x1950 , it has run all the games i play so far at 1440x900 maxed with no problems , save yourself 50 quid towards your new card in future

The 7900 GTO is a fair bit faster for little more outlay.

There is no 256mb x1950 XTX, theres only a 256mb x1950 XT, and its slower than the XTX, x1950 XTX is 650 core, 2.00ghz GDDR4 Memory, the x1950 XT is 625 core, 1800mhz GDDR3 Memory, the XT might be slightly faster than the x1900 XT/x1900 XTX, not sure as theres no reviews of it yet, id be interested in seeing some actually, see how good it is, as £187 doesn't sound to bad, if its faster than the x1900 as said. :)
