Must Read Books

Hi all

Have decided in the summer before Uni, in my spare time, I want to read lots of classic and well regarded books. However, I don't really know that many, so... anyone care to list a few titles to get me started?

Currently have Catcher in the Rye, Silence of the Lambs and American Psycho out from the library, among other less well known books.

Animal Farm and To Kill a Mockingbird definitely added to the "read soon" pile, others noted. :)

Was never my intention to impress people, I just very much enjoy reading with lots of spare time for once, I want to embrace that by reading books that are considered to be "must read".

I have already read things like LotR, The Road, Hitchhikers Guide (which I absolutely detest), 1984, etc etc but there are tonnes in here for me to add to my list. Thanks so much all :)
