MW2 co-op mode

Apologies for starting 'yet another' MW2 thread but I didn't want to venture into the main thread in case of story spoilers. The thread should slip off the front page quite quickly anyway

Me and a friend are planning on renting it for the co-op mode, is it any good? I assume it's just the story mode for 2 people? Length isn't really a problem just as long as it's good.

As far as I'm aware, there is no 2 player online story co-op.
There is however spec ops mode (Think terrorist hunt/horde/minigames)

Me and a friends spent quite a long time playing the spec ops missions split screen. So on that basis, rent it out.

The spec ops missions are amazing, and as far as first person co-op experiences go, are up there at the top with the likes of Halo legendary runs and Perfect Dark counter-ops.

You can even lan it. It's brilliant!

Played a few with my m8 online and have to agree they are very good. They are basically areas taken from the single player but there is a good variety of different objectives you need to work together to complete and your awarded stars. The harder the difficulty the more stars you can acheive and they can get fairly difficult.

A couple of missions we've played involve one of you in a heli/plane covering the otherone who's trying to complete the objective, which is pretty cool.

The spec ops mode is good fun, I liked the level that was like horde mode where you were in a petrol station fighting the waves of enemys, choppers ect.

Spent from Saturday Morning 9am until 11PM last night playing Spec Ops split screen with a mate. Its absoutely F ING AWESOME!!!! We got 21 stars, on the last levels now.

Its just amazing, amazing, amazing. I just cant get over how amazing it is. We were just so "focused" and working as a real team. Its just awesome. Im sounding boring and repetitive now but it's definately worth renting for the weekend.

Me and a Mate have always bought Multiplayer games, co-op was the reason for me getting back into consoles. I think the last one we enjoyed was Halo 3 and Spec Op's mode in MW2 has clearly surpassed it.

It's awesome!

We're on some of the final missions and they're insanely hard on Veteran!

yeh spec ops is good fun, however i think its ridiculous how they havent included support for co-op campaign, as there was in world at war..

WaW didn't really have proper campaign co-op either, loads of levels were missing

though it would have been nice to do some of the MW2 levels co-op.

Yeah that would have been good, I really like the wave defense spec ops, and the one where you're a gunner looking out for your mate on the ground is great

I don't really like the stealth ones, very hard to sneak past / silently take down everyone and as soon as one person spots you get killed very quickly.

some of them are just ridiculous. I imagine the IW times are on veteran ? but i really don't see how lol. One of them my friend and i took 11 mins and they did it in 30 seconds or something. Just silly

This has just reminded me of trying to do facility in under 2 min to get the invicibility cheat on Goldeneye N64, spent ages getting that one!

I'm sure there will be some youtube vids with it being done soon

The IW times are obviously on the most easy mode as some like the AC-130 one are physically impossible to complete in that amount of time on veteran. (IE: If there were no enemies and you were continously sprinting to the end you wouldn't make it)

Stay in the alley, fire off a few shots and let them come to you. We killed them all as they rushed us and then walked over to plant the bombs
