Hi guys,

Any chance you could let me know what sort of space the boot/bonnet yield?

I am considering getting one but need to know that all of my work stuff will fit in. If it wont then it's a defo no-no.

Cheers,

Chris

edit - My work "stuff" does not consist of curling tongs or hairdryers.

The boot in the Mk2 is weeny - a lot smaller than originally thought it'd be. If it's anything like that they I'm guessing your work stuff (which I assume is PCs/audio equipment?) won't fit.

It's really pretty small mate. You can take the spacesaver spare wheel which would help. You should get a small toolbox and a laptop in tho.

As i figure it :

MK1 is 124 Litres

MK2 is 144 Litres

Really really hoping so. I spent wednesday rebuilding one front caliper, sorted that out I think but then when I was doing the 2nd one I split the new dust boot seal that goes round the piston which snookered me. I've managed to buy another one so am waiting for it to arrive in the post. Hoping to fit the caliper back and discs, pads and bleed the system on sat. If that happens then I'm hopefully back on the road.

Not sure on the mk1, the mk2 though you can fit a surprisingly lot of stuff in it. And golf glubs too! What sort of work stuff are you talking about?

I've managed to fit 2 wheely suitcases (the ones you can take as hand luggage) and a soft bag. I can fit months of shopping in. If you take the space saver tyre out you've got even more space. It's quite wide, but it's not very tall which is often the issue.

MK2 is definatley a lot larger than the MK1. The spare eats into the space in the Mk1.

I think the Mk2 has the largest boot of all the roadsters I looked at. Mk1 is almost as big if you remove the space saver.

I thought the boot in the MGTF was much bigger.

The mk1 boot is kind of oddly spaced, Maybe a large suitcase and a few carry one bags if your lucky. Although my mate who is 6ft 1in managed to get the boot of my ex's when he couldn't afford a taxi home! :p
