My mouse randomly just freezes for about 3 seconds every minute or so and it's getting pretty annoying. It's a USB mouse and I've tried all the USB ports on my computer and it's still happening. I've tried uninstalling Logitech Setpoint and it's still happening. Someone suggested IRQ conflicts or something, whatever that means, anyone have any idea, or is the mouse just dying?

try the mouse in a completely different computer. if you get the same problems then just RMA it. logitech are famously good with their RMA's

I have the exact same problem. Tried different drivers, different usb ports, with setpoint, without setpoint no difference. Eventually swtiched to entirely different usb mouse and had no problems ever since.

Looking around on the net this is a very common problem with the Logitech mx518, it could be a wire or something internally which is causing the device to constantly connect and disconnect from the usb port.

Ah well it served me well over the years, now the dilema is either go with a new mouse or go for another MX518 hmmm :(

Doesn't really matter Logitech are awesome.

Just to ecco this, I had a faulty MX610 mouse this month, mouse is discontinued. Phoned up gave mouse PIN number from receiver, they said pick any mouse upto £60 and we send free of charge. Never wanted any proof or anything, never even wanted old mouse back.
