Hi,

Just bought this mouse today and the side wheel seems to be overly sensitive. With the thumb resting in that area, it's all too easy to brush past it in either direction and bring up the Document Flip window especially brushing it forward. I don't need to move the wheel all the way...all it takes is a slight nudge and it pops up.

Is this normal? What's it like with your Revolutions?

Thanks in advance. :)

I use uberoptions and thus have remapped my thumbwheel to fwd/back skip (click to play/pause) so don't really have the same problem with document flip. You'll get used to it.

I haven’t had a problem with the thumb wheel.

I can’t stand the mouse in general though. Previously I had a Logitech MX518 which was an awesome mouse, but the MX Revolution is just weird.

Its either too sensitive or not sensitive enough, and I constantly click in the wrong place now as it doesn’t seem to go where it should. Especially with small movements.

Have it mapped to multiple keystrokes now but left the entries empty so it does nothing for now so I can finally hold the mouse naturally. Will give that uberoptions a try and hopefully get middle click working with Firefox!

Do know what you mean with the last few comments there but will give it more time and hopefullly I will get used to it.

Just concerned that no matter what I'll map the thumb wheel to, it will be overly sensitive and I may return it and just go for the MX518.

I've never had any problems with sensitivity and small movements.

After paying attention to how I hold the mouse, I've noticed that I naturally rest my thumb just behind the wheel and control it using the tip of my thumb so don't press it by accident much.

You should use uBerOptions to reconfigure the buttons to something more suitable to what you like!

As for the issue itself, the up action on the thumbwheel is more sensitive than the down action I found on all the MX Rev mice I have had over the years, it's not an issue though as I have them mapped to "HOME" and "END" to quickly get to the start and end of long pages whilst browsing online - the press in action is set to Flip3D in Cista which is pretty neat to have on the mouse :)
