MX1 vs AS5

hey guys

i was wondering which is the better thermal paste MX1 which is silcone (sp?) based and AS5 which is silver based

I read a test between these two, can't find the link sorry, and there was actually neglible difference between the two, although AS5 pipped it by a degree or so iirc. As pre applied stuff goes, MX1 seems to be really quite good. However, AS say that AS5 is only properly burnt in after 200 hours, and I don't know if the review did that to see if there was any difference after that.

Theoretically speaking though, the mega silver content of AS5 should be a better heat conductor.

AS also say the same 200hr burn applies to MX-1 too!

OP i used MX-1 and am really pleased with the temps, but afaik there is really little difference between the two

I was wondering the same thing, only whether to clean the preapplied MX1 off my Freezer 64 Pro and use AS5 instead. It seems this thread has answered my question
