Hi!

Being a motoring phillestine I thought I'd ask..

What do people reckon to these? Its the Japanese version of the MX5, and would need importing, or buying second hand.

I quite like the idea of buying an mx5, as a regular car whilst I do up my triumph which will probably take me years!

A friend of mine has a special edition mx5 with an interior designed by some bloke with a fancy name. Its higher spec and man is it fun to drive, thats why I want one

How did you get hold of it? Only 100 of the platinum made apparently (my friend has the black limited edition of which 500 were made)?

they do tend to come up for sale now and again, only 100 ever made unfortunatly but its worth keeping a look out if your interested. I've seen two others in the flesh, and a couple of the back ones (500 made, black leather and exterior)

There are also a wealth of other special editions which give nice interiors and little extras

edit: damn ninjas Guess i was just lucky tbh, didn't come with the luggage unfortuantly, and the cd changer was missing, but that didn't really bother me as i put an alpine HU in pretty quickly

My next purchase is going to be a triumph spitfire/stag I'm planning on doing up, just looking for one that doesn't need that much work, knowing my luck I'll see one just as I've spend several thousands on refurbishment of the other one.

I prefer the black limited edition mx5 I think, especially as I get to drive it occasionally, not a huge fan of the red interior but would still love to get my hands on one.

Watch the black cars, cause jap paint is so soft, for example i can scratch my top coat with my fingernail they swirl up really bad if not washed correctly, nothing that a good machine polish won't fix but if buying black the dealer might have polished it up to hide the swirls (like mine did )

Well the black limited edition I'm talking about is the British made Jasper Conran version (500 made), not the Japanese Eunos - sorry, its kinda evolved into a general mx5 thread

Ah, hmm

My friends version has been repainted British Racing Green (not sure if thats lowered the value or not?). Looks awesome, I think that's what I'd be after.
