I use renovo or whatever its called, its kinda pricey but well worth it!!

it blackens the hood, makes it more water resistant, gets all the dirt off and prolongs its life span.

I used to use boot polish. I have a mohair hood now though.

shoe/boot polish is the way forward. You could buy the expensive stuff but boy is it expensive! Build up layers of boot polish is the common theory on the owners club forums.

I have a Mohair one on mine. The things amazing, the black car can be filthy and covered in dust yet the hood is immaculate. Whatever coating it has on it I want on the car, it must be some sort of super dirt repellant.

I am glad I had to get it changed, it makes the car look so much better than the old vinyl one.
