Hi guys,
Had a Logitec MX5000 Keyboard & Mouse for christmas but I need some help!

I currently have two computers (with one monitor, keyboard and mouse) running through a KVM switch (with ps2 connections) which is fine.

But the new keyboard I have runs on Bluetooth and has a little USB Bluetooth connector for the keyboard and mouse to connect to.

The problem is that the Bluetooth connector needs to be connected to the computer I'm working on but if I want to work on the other computer I have to unplug the Bluetooth connector and then plug it into the other computer.

Is there any sort of connector I can get so that I can share the Bluetooth connector between both computers at the some time? Obviously I would only have obe computer turned on at any one time.

Would a USB KVM switch work?

Thanks all.

USB KVM should be fine, contact the OCuk and ask which one they'd recommend. That way you got someone else to blame if it doesnt work, lol... ;)

Hi,
thanks for the help :)

I just checked Ocuk for USB KVM's and they only have one and it costs over £60.00 (almost as much as my MX5000 desktopo set!).

But thanks anyway.

Thanks guys. I will get a cheapy USB KVM switch as soon as I get chance. I will post back then and let you all know if it will split a Bluetooth connection between two PC's.

Its hard enough getting it to work with one computer let alone through a switch with two. Download the latest drivers and software from logitech website and ive found it best to have an old standard mouse plugged in just in case the bluetooth connection goes down

OK guys, just incase anyone is interested.

I bought a Belkin USB KVM switch to run my MX5000 destop between two computers and it works a treat. No lag, full range of options from the setpoint software.

Im happy :)

NNOOoOOoOOooooooo don't get one cos you don`t need one!!!

You just move the dongle to the other computer I have the same keyboard and mouse and have been moving it between 3 computers for a year and its fine :)

EDIT: Damn just realised you already bought it... oh well...

? just remove the dongle and re-insert it, it works 10/10 for me :)

And if you want to switch PC instantly at the press of a button?

KVM was a good choice, glad it worked out.... ;)

Yeah, a KVM was deffo the right choice. There was no way I wanted to be be plugging and unpluggin the dongle all the time just to switch PC's and then the is the issue of sharing the monitor........

The KVM was on £17 (got it from work) so well worth every penny.

"And if you want to switch PC instantly at the press of a button?" ------ The Belink software even has a little utility that allows you to change PC's at the click of a mouse!!
