A weird problem with my MX518. It seems to struggle to keep it's sensitivity settings, and keeps switching down to min sensitivity, usually in a middle of a game.

I haven't found a pattern yet, seems to be truly random, and I have to bump it up a notch again.

I'm running Windows XP2. Just wondering if anyone here experienced that as well. If it's an XP problem, I'm soon upgrading to WIndows 7 anyway, but would be nice to know if there is a fix.

Very odd, there is likely some process or service that is altering your settings.

I and my wife use 518s for many years with no issues whatsoever, I have no logitech drivers installed, simply what windows and windows updates uses.

Can't hurt to try, I have always just plugged and played with this mouse.

Wonder if some of the progarmas you use utilise the mouse driver settings, and other don't thus the difference when changing over.

can't be this - when SetPoint changes the mouse-sensitivity, it actually changes the sensitivity inside the mouse.

I think the sensitivity change is a hardware feature. The setting on my mouse works on anything, including on my PS3, OS X, Linux etc. So your mouse is possibly at fault, unless you're knocking the button without noticing!
