I've stumbled upon this comedy gold late night on Challenge TV. It's basically a Japanese gameshow, narrated by two American comedians. It's just amazing.

Anyone else seen it?

Arghh the American version is awful, the voiceover dudes ruin it completely. It's an insult to the awesomeness of the original.

Watch the UK version, Takeshi's Castle, it's much better.

I've seen Takeshi's Castle but I figured this was new, as a lot of the events seem different (and they don't do the final challenge). I actually enjoyed the voiceover as it adds some comedy to what is a pretty slapstick show.

Half the fun of watching Takeshi's Castle for me is listening to the Japanese contestants being very ott and energetic.

The American dubs over everyone is just....retarded.... and kind of spoils the whole fun feel of the show. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Each to their own though.

Craig Charles + Original Japanese > Random American commentators + cheesy dubbing.

I disagree. Having watched both the UK and the US versions I've found the comedy voiceovers for the contestants on the latter far more amusing. Especially the random things they shout before starting the event. There's in-jokes as well if you stick with it - always someone with the surname Babaganoush for example. :D

Captain Tenneal and Guy LeDouche certainly beat Craig Charles' lacklustre narration.

This is what I thought of it, particularly the parent/kids ones, where the kids usually shout funny stuff at the parents. It's the random factor that I love.
