My 146 opti stepping any good ?

I got an opti 146 laying around, but is a good stepping. It says on the chip CABNE 0545BPMN . Is this a good stepping and what do you think it will goto, thanx

Wow, thats faster than my Opti 165 at 2313 mhz.
Should i put my 146 back in or stick with my 165. I cant get my 165 past 2313, no matter what i do

seen a CABNE 0545 BPMW do 2.9ghz but that took 1.66v like trojan says 3g is never certain, you wont notice the difference anyway.

I have an Asus A8n32 Sli Deluxe, Geforce BFG 7800GTX , 2*512 Corsair XMS Pro 3200(nice dancing lights),a Western digi 250g Sata drive.I once had it to 2.7 ghz, then i ran it at 2.2ghz for 3 months. Now got a opteron 165, that refuses to go past 2313 mhz, no matter what i do.Will the Opti 146 out perform the 165 if overclocked to 3.0ghz. I only play quake 1 and San Andreas multi-player

yes it would, but your 165 will definatley go higher

Ive done everything to get my 165 opti to go higher.Ive even had my friend sgoaty to help me out, and we cant seem to get over 2313 mhz. I lower the mem divider, added more core volts, highered the fsb , and the pc is unstable in prime.I also get crap benchmark tests after 2313, i just think i have a bad chip.

Erm, please forgive me, im just not used to overclocking terminology.When you say divider do you mean memory divider. Its at 166, if thats what you mean.My fsb is 257, so my memory is running at 210 mhz. Ive tried 133 divider and 100, and my pc can get to 2.5 ghz, but its soooo unstable. I cant believe that i have an opti that will not go above 2.3 ghz. Im gutted.

yeah, the mem divider. Have you tried it in a different board with different ram? What psu are you using?

Ive got the HTT on 3x (600).

Oh, and im using a brand new Enermax Liberty 620 watts psu.

I aint tried it in a different board.Do you think it could be my memory holding me back.Im using Corsair Xms 3200 pro, 2 sticks of 512= 1024 megs of memory

You sure you're not forgetting something? Are you using the latest bios? You're ram isnt holding you back, but it may be worth running memtest.
Try..

HT multi 3x (600)
mem divider 133
CPU multi 9x
HTT 265
Vcore 1.5v

with stock mem timings..

Failing that, send it to me.

Im using the very latest bios (1205). Ive tried those settings and it fails prime95. I will try mem test How long do i run mem test for ?
