My 1st (noob) overclock

Hi all

Have been browsing the forum for a while getting to grips with overclocking. I've made my 1st small step towards OC heaven..... ish

AMD64 3000+ Venice
Gigabite GA-K8NSC-939
1256mb pc3200
9800 pro GC

So far I've up the HTT from 200- 230mHz ( unchangable x9 multiply ) take the CPU from 1.8 - 2070mHz.
I've not touched the core voltage yet as everything is stable. At HTT 244, the system is unstable after prolonged COD2 action

I'm using the stock AMD cooler, and like I said haven't touched the core V yet.

Any informed suggestions as to where I go next as I've caught the OC bug and want to find out some more.

read the overclocking guide 'sticky thread', id suggest better cooling, also upping the Vcore slightly. Make sure you keep an eye on the temp, aim for below 50 on load.

I'm using MBM to watch the temps, around 27 at idle and up to 37 when gaming or prime95.

What sort of increments are we talking about on the core volt? Stock is 1.4 in the bios, but cpu-z reads around 1.37V
