My 3008wfp is dying?

About two thirds of the way across my screen a single pixel wide line of yellowish pixels is displayed all the way down my screen. They are only visible on light backgrounds. 5-10 minutes after power on they disappear. I know it is not my graphics card is I get the same thing from both computers connected by DVI and my MBA connected by DP.

If I have to buy a replacement (6 months out of warranty :rolleyes:

)then I'll need another 30" (gtfo 1440p, vertical res is king) and the same amount of digital inputs. Is the u3011 my best option?

Hi there,

I had a similar issue with my 2709W and I ended up getting it replaced by dell under warranty.

May I ask when you bought then monitor? as your one should come with at least 3 years of cover.

Which exact connections do you require?

The Dell U3011 has a vast array of connections including 2 dual link DVI, 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort on the digital side.

Other 30" screen are far more restrictive and have only a single input or perhaps a dual link DVI and DisplayPort.

Two DVI and a single DP minimum. My choices seem to be either the Dell or a similarly specced HP.

The HP ZR30W has 1 dual link DVI and 1 DP.

Do they do any other 30" monitors?

Bah another Dell then. Lets hope the 3011 is not designed to go wonky shortly after the warranty.
