My 360 is back Quietness finaly

hi guys just got my xbox 360 back today only send it off last monday :)

This is my 3rd xbox 360 now :(

I was hoping for a new xbox with a HDMI port on the back but no luck there, but they have send my a 2009 xbox my old one was a 2007 make so thats good.

Right i've got it runing and its so quiet i opened the cd drive it looked newer from my last one, i'd tryed a game and you can't even hear the xbox its so quiet. The xbox itself did feel warm tho.

So are ms finaly making them quieter ?
 
They have a special board (Opus?) that is basically a newer chipset minus HDMI, so people with non-HDMI consoles can't get it as a freebie when receiving it back from repair.

I think even then they are only Falcon chipsets though, not Jaspers unless they have changed them again.
 
The Opus chipset is the smaller 65nm CPU, but still the same original 90nm GPU. Effectively the same as the Falcon chipset, but as Nismo stated, without HDMI.
 
I suspect i'll get exactly the same when mine is delivered back to me tomorrow. Quieter will be a bonus at least.
 
I also noticed that my DVD drive seemed a lot quieter after receiving it back from repair last week. There was nothing wrong with it (went away for an E74 repair) so I'm guessnig they're either just replacing all drives as part of the repair process, or they're replacing specific drives.
 
Yes my psu makes a very high pitched nosie but its not too bad now tho with the xbox being quiet.

I Just need to buy FORZA 3 :)
 
what do you include with the 360 when you send it back? I've read that you should keep the psu and the face plate, is that right?
 
Just literally the machine itself. Keep the PSU, keep any memory unit/hard drive, and if you have a custom faceplate swap it back to the stock one.
