Well, I guess it was bound to happen at some point, but 3 months after getting the thing?

Over the last week or so, I have had problems with CDs spinning down mid-game, causing games to either lock up, or in the case of Forza 2, stop rendering all the textures; so you end up driving on a ‘sky box’ texture.

Another thing, MS took my extended warranty payment on April the 6th (I got the console on the 28th of March), but I have not received anything in the post, as they promise.

Now stuck on the phone to the support people, about 10 minutes and counting…..

Not chuffed at the moment.

Scort.

Feel for you man, I have no warranty left as its one of the first 360s :(

Touch wood I hope it lasts a bit longer.

Never realised the huge failiure rate until i started reading these forums.

I heard it is more than 30%, and another factory in the UK is starting to fix them, due to the amount coming in
The voicemail thing on the support number states that expected turn-around is 25 days now, and they expect it to be back to 15 days by the end of July.

I have now hung up, couldn't stand listening to that hold music, with no end in site :(

Scort.

Well, I still want a 360, I really enjoy it; guess you have to take the rough with the smooth eh!

Not sure how they can allow such a seemingly high failure rate though?

Scort.

I've been reading that one guy has had 12 360's so far, yes 12!

That is just insane how they are getting away with that.

IMO Microsoft are well known for dishing out h/w with decent build quality, i've had a MS Sidewinder Gamepad for many many years, and an Inteli V3 Mouse, absolutely awesome mouse. They have really messed up though with the 360, I no longer see them as having good QC and build quality, its a real shame :(

Why dont we have one thread for 'my 360 has died' Perhaps a stickie, we get 5 a week anyway why not keep them all in one place. With the opening post editted to answer any new questions?

Ha, sounds like a good idea, either that, or a dedicated section in the OcUK forum for failed 360s.

I have emailed the support guys instead of calling, but I suspect that I will have to chase them on the phone to get a response.

Scort.
