I have recently done some overclocking on my card and thought i would run 3DMark and got the following score.

3DMark Score 12583 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 4973 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5708 Marks
CPU Score 3797 Marks

Am i right in thinking that this is a bit low for my setup (in sig)?

Hummm it seems as if it is my SM 2.0 score that is down buy about 1000 odd. I know my CPU score is low but that is because it not overclocked (Water cooling coming at some point). Anyone know why my SM 2.0 score is so low?

Its not too bad. When I first setup my Q6600 yesterday at stock with 2 2900Pro's @ 850/1000, I got 13500.

Now the Q6600 is clocked above 3.8Ghz, I get 19603.

Get that CPU overclocked:)

I know that with an overclocked cpu i would get arround a 2200 increase in my score. Would the SM 2.0 score be linked with the cpu speed? I know in theroy it shouldn't :p

Had a few issues with my new setup, so now have it stable at 420 x 9 and my 2 2900Pros are running 900/1050.

CPU idles around 45, max at 70 when running Prime
Grfx idle at 39, max around 45

You will be CPU bound at 1280x1024 for 3dmark06. Raising my CPU speed increases my score at that low resolution and it will be the same for Intel but obviously AMD will get affected at faster speeds as the Core 2 Duo CPU's do more work per cycle.

Overclocking will see a raise of scores and as this older system isn't capable of faster than what I have in my sig, I have no way of finding out when the CPU wouldn't be holding me back. So I have absolutely no idea when the CPU boundary ends with Intels Core 2 CPU's.

Ok so i have put my cpu up to 2.7 and i get this

3DMark Score 13716 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 5530 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 6060 Marks
CPU Score 4215 Marks

Im quite happy with this score as my SM 2.0 score has gone up and my cpu has as well. I will be overclocking my cpu more when i get a decent cooler (the coolermaster geminII isn't really up to the task)

definitely low, scored 13665, using an e6600@ 3.2ghz and a 8800gts 512, 780 core, 1090 memory, should see a good jump when you clock your cpu a bit more
