My 4870 Benchmarks o.k?

3dmark06 is fine but you must ignore the default settings if you want to test your graphics cards.

I run at 1920x1200 with 4xAA and get just over 10k with my 4870

Q6600 @ 3.6 4870 (stock)

3D Mark 06 - 15493

Q6600 @ 3.6 4870 (overclocked) 790/1100 - Is it possible to get these any higher? This is as high as the control panel will go!

3D Mark 06 - 16205

Just off to do Crysis next, but do these look o.k for one 4870?? They seem a little slow to me??
My 8800GTX overclocked used to pull 14200!!

Will be putting my 2nd 4870 in tomorrow, how much extra can I except off that?

just want to share mine for comparison...

my 3870x2 (stock speed) scored 15,575 points in 3d mark 06 (ran on default settings) on an E6550 @ 3.5

Pritty pleased with my results

3D Mark Vantage 13853 - Q6600 @ 3.6 2X 4870's 790/1100

3D Mark 06 19411 - Q6600 @ 3.6 2X 4870's 790/1100

Time to break 20k (06) and 14k (vantage) *Goes to overclock CPU more*

So Emlyn what would you suggest we use then - and don't say Vantage as thats Vista only.

Em. Call me stupid and this might be a ridiculous way to test a new graphics card but I'd say... "Games"

 *z0mg, what did he just say?*

Yep, that's right, I really think actual ingame results are the only meaningful way to test a new graphics card these days.

:D Just think that 3dmark has been meaningless for an age now.

Finally some more Crysis benchmarks@ 1680*1050, this time with CF 4870's:

All High No AA - 43FPS (1X4870) 40FPS (CF 4870's)

All High 4XAA - 35FPS (1X4870) 38FPS (CF 4870's)

All Very High No AA - 27.8FPS (1X4870) 32.1FPS (CF 4870's)

All Very High 4XAA - 23FPS (1X4870) 31.1FPS (CF 4870's)

The more you seem the give the CF 4870's the better the performance, theres hardly any difference between the first couple of benchmarks but take a look at the last one, finally 30FPS+ with Crysis maxed and 4XAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Q6600 @ 3.6 - 4GB OCZ 1066MHZ - Asus Rampage X48)

3D Mark 06 is really showing its age, 19.4K is the max I could get with the above settings, it really doesnt test the card to its full potencial. 3D Mark Vantage is a better test for these new GPU's 13.8K agasint the 6K my 8800GTX OC used to get
