I have an AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition @ 3.20GHz (stock) from 3-4 years ago.
I've always wanted to get into overclocking and to OC it, but the temperatures I've seen at idle, while gaming and under full load have scared me.
I began with an Arctic Cooler Freezer Pro, which gave similar, if not higher temps, a few months ago. My friend had a spare Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro Rev 2 and some Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, so I hooked that up and was expecting lower temps, but low and behold only a few degrees lost.
Is the cooler really the problem? I have an Antec 902 case, so airflow seems alright.
