yeh i know lol but i go to my friends house oftern and my bros house for gaming nights and get shamshed etc i used to take the pc with me but its to much chew so i had my bros old laptop and now its died and is no use for anything haha

The reason why I took a laptop over a ITX rig is so I dont have to lug a keyboard, screen, speakers, microphone and everything over.

Now, for laptops, just a tad over 1k, I strongly suggest avoiding that Samsung, it is last gen tech (2nd i7, 6 series gfx).
Now you haven't said if you want flashy stuff like blu ray or 3D. I'm going to guess you do but I dont so here is what I would buy (im so helpful!) :D :D

17.3" Vortex III (aka Clevo P170EM)
i7-3630QM (very good i7)
8GB RAM
7970M (top of the line mobile gfx card, similar to the 7850 desktop)
750GB HDD
No windows
£1,101.00

You can get better for less money

Lets take a quick look:

  • MSI GE70 gets you an i7-3630QM, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD and a 650M for £840.
  • Clevo system gets you an i7-3630QM, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD and a 660M for £800.
Youre paying 40 sheets more for less power

  • MSI GX60
This is a strange one, not going to compare because its CPU is terrible but if you don't run CPU intensive games, there isnt a point spending more

  • MSI GT60 gets you an i7-3630QM, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Blu-Ray Drive, NVIDIA GTX 675M for £1150
  • Clevo P170EM gets you i7-3630QM, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Blu-Ray Drive, ATI 7970M for £1150
Same price, but the Clevo gets you a 7970m which is around 40-50% faster

Now you are getting a bunch of other stuff with the MSI's, but for raw performance and price, clevo's are right at the top.
I'm not being a Clevo elitist, I went ahead and bought an Alienware over the Clevo, just if people wanna get the most power for the money, Clevo is the way to go

That's good to know. But with the Clevo's you would have to buy an OS which bumps the cost up too. I prefer to get my laptop ready to go, but that's just me.

What goes on regarding warranties on Clevo's, do OcUK deal with them?
