What should i do about this?

The amp won't work so i opened it up and one of the connections on the main amp board had a load of foam around it. So i wiped it off but everytime i turn it on more foam appears.

Amp is an ancient JVC AX-2, is there any way i can salvage it?

Extra info:
It may have got damp, the screws i left on my window sill have left rust stains
It smells strangely like an over chlorinated swimming pool inside
Fizzing noise as it foams

Any chance this is down to a short circuit?

open it up, don some safety specs and clothes and turn that bad boy on xP then you can actually see what's happening :)

*this is only a suggestion, user does so at own risk, i hold no legal resopnsibilities for your actions*

better to be safe then sorry :p

Oh i have, it's foaming from a specific join, just a completely normal piece of uninsulated wire....

I thinkk i'm just gonna replace it, it was never that good anyway
