ok so i had a thread a while back that had my antec 300 in, though thats when i just finished building.

heres an update:

ive added a dvd drive that matches the antec 300 and new sharkoon silent eagle fans with an akasa fan controller. i had low hopes for the fan controller-whether or not it would go well with the case but i think it looks great. :p

i also had a go at cable management, though this was pretty difficult because of the awkward 24pin/4pin power connections and also because i was running my hdd in a 5 1/4inch drive bay (had to silence it), and to top it all off my hdd was also ide. but i did my best.

now for some pics (also posted in the desk/new case gallery):

what cooler is that?

Looking good too :D

Akasa 965...great cooler - similar to the arctic cooling freezer pro 7 in design. i brought as it is pretty cheap and fitted on my mobo fine. it cools good enough for me and i have the fan on 50% all the time to keep noise.

Looks really good m8 cable management is top notch too your mobo looks really tiny in that case lol.

lol i know , thinking about getting a asus p5k mobo but i think i will just wait until i do a completely new build.

also guys, ive put together a little video of the pics if you prefer that. its in my sig

at the time (so a couple of years ago) when core2duo was released it proved a cheap upgrade from my old agp/pentium 4 system and allowed me to upgrade to pcie/dual core. but yeah it is matx-this isnt a new build mind, ive moved stuff from my old apevia case (well some stuff).

With having 5 hard drives in my antec 300, and a non-modular psu I have cables everywhere:(

hmm perhaps, as a mod if you drill a whole going from the front of the hdd cage going to the cable management area, then mounting the hdds backwards. to try and hide the power/sata cables.

yep the antec 300 is definatly one of the best cases in its price range.

on another note im just testing out the fan controller, wish it went lower as it only makes my sharkoon silent eagles 2000 go to 1000rpm or 50% so there is a slight humming sound. thinking of putting my 140mm fan back to exhaust out of the top but im not sure how i could connect it to the fan controller (it uses molex..).

fans have a the power of a jet engine at full speed - wooooooooohooooooo! no but seriously i think im going to get sucked into it :rolleyes:

Nice pics - funny how the components dwarf the board. Bought an Antec 300 for a friend (also a 900 for my brother) - excellent VFM. I'm also picky about cable management - modular does help.

Nice looking build there =)

What do you think of the case to work with?

its a brilliant case to work with. thumb screws for drives, fan cages come off using thumb screws so you can put the fans in with out it being really fiddly, good amount of space (and i think it will take those longer psus), good cooling, cable management area works well, front cover comes off easier then saying 1 2 3. and to top it off, its much better than my apevia x cruiser, which when removing my corsair hx520, appeared to bend and nearly collapse on itself, so i striped it down and dumped it.

to sum up, i would definatly recommend it to anyone looking to do their first build (namely on a budget) as it beats cases like the akasa zen, in terms of style and performance.
