My app windows gets messed when screen goes off

I have just got a R9 290 card and Ive just noticed that if I have windows open when screen turns off, the windows are resized or moved when screen comes back on. I think its something todo with the zerocore feature that basically turns off the graphics card when the screen goes off?

Is there anyway to stop my windows being messed up when the screen goes off?

Are you using display port? I've had problems like this when using multiple monitors with different outputs.

I am using 1 dvi socket. I have found out how to disable the zerocore to stop the card turning off when screen goes off and that seems to have fixed the problem. But is it ok to disable zerocore, Im not going to break my card or anything by doing this?

If you are able to turn it off I can't imagine why it would damage anything.

I have done it within msi afterburner, the option is called Disable ULPS

Another thing, when my screen comes on, windows makes that sound when your plugging in a usb device, is this normal?
