I have been running an Audigy 1 and a set of Sennheiser PC150's for about 8-9 months now, that was until I turned the Sennheiser's into PC75's. I broke off the left speaker completely!
Anyhow, made do with my hi-fi for sound. Then on tuesday I decided to get some more headphones. The sennheiser 151/161 were out of stock and so I got looking at the medusa 5.1's.
Having read a few reviews about these and X-fi sound cards, I decided to get both.
Installed and connected the headphones, booted Battlefield 2 and was shocked at the sound I was hearing. It was utter garbage. High pitch shrills splitting my ear drums! very little bass and just horrid sound all round
I was gutted. Noticed the Sennheiser's had come into stock, Ordered the 161's
Arrived today, plugged them in and..........Awful
After spending hours messing around with settings and such, I found out what it was. The bloody amp that came with medusa's
If I plug Sennheiser directly into PC. Sounds great. If I plug Medus's directly into PC. Sounds great.
If I plug either of them into the speedlink amp. Sounds awful
Surely something wrong here? and I now have 2 brand new headset's when either one would do
