Pics of the car next. When I find a decent back spot and once the car has had a full clean in and out, and possibly a detail done, then I'll get some good pics up as these ones are just to show what the car looks like.

Looks lovely mate, what tyres are you running on the strip?, do they have to be road legal?.
:)

Just road tyres. I'm not one for the drag strip, did it as a one off as I've never done it before.

Sweet!

Loose the wing though imo :)

Keeps the back end tidy on track mate. Plus it looks miles better in real life.

GruppeM doesn't look like it fits right, did you get it from the same person as the breadvan alloys?:p

Does look nice though, Mugen(?) wing looks good.

Nah mate came fitted with the car. They are a shoddy fit on both the EP3 and DC5. I've been meaning to do some DIY work on it to make it look better plus a front strut to keep it from moving around.

Very nice, that power curve looks very good. 170lb/ft from a 2.0 NA. Has 145lb off VTEC :D

She's rapid alright. Thinking about some cams which will boost the torque even more. The power on tap above the VTEC threshold of 4500 is brilliant all the way to 8600 rpm.

Thanks guys. Greatly appreciated. I'm going to get the EP3 alloys refurbed in matt black with red outline for track use. I only bought them as an interim, the wheels originally on the car were gross (non standard) so needed a quick fix. Found the current TD ones at a good price.

Anyway 888's should be going on the EP3 rims soon enough (after the refurb) ready for track use next year. Might try and squeeze a quick one in before the weather turns for the worse.

Chris any chance you could post a pic that shows how the carbon bonnet looks against the rest of the car? I have some rust on the lip of my bonnet and am considering buying a carbon one to replace it but I’ve not been able to find any decent pics to see what it looks like against a black car.

Cheers.

One of these do? I'll have another look later to see if I can find any others.

Yup, VTEC lowered. The car is very raw, the diff can be a right nightmare sometimes, I know people who have had both the DC2 and the DC5 who say the 5 is more raw.

This is from one owner who made the DC2 to DC5 move:

Mate gave me a copy of an old Evo mag (sep 06, shoot out of the best FWD car ever, 15 cars, won by UK-DC2). Interesting read, particularly as (like many of you) I came into DC5 ownership having first owned a DC2 , flogged it and realized nothing else made me happy...

Anyway. I have found the DC5 harsher and the LSD far less forgiving than the DC2, but assumed it was just me. Quite nice to find the following quotes in an article on FWD evolution over the years that lists the DC5 as the ultimate expression of FWD, but also gives an honest appraisal of its faults ! Thought it may be of interest.

Quote1 - "You cannot powerslide a FWD car (although the current integra typeR almost makes you think you can, such are the extraordinary antics of its LSD)" :)

Quote2 - "But is it best to try and hide a cars innate FWD-ness or let it shout as an art form in itself ? I come back to the current Integra typeR, next to which the DC2 is a model of civility. The current one is raw, with massively corrupted steering and a sledgehammer LSD make it keep turning. Its FWD and proud of it ! "

That Q2 is exactly how I have found the DC5. Harsher than the DC2 and the 'massively corrupted steering' is spot on... (First time I hit bumps on a B-road while overtaking I knew ALL about that ! ).

Still love it, but longing for smoother and DRY roads ! :)

Only ever driven a DC2 once so can't really comment.
