Hi, i was just wondering if i could have an opinion on this budget build i might make and see if everything should fit perfectly with each other.
you see im just a beginner at this so a feedback if everything works with each other would be helpful :)

Motherboard MSI 970A-G45 AMD 9 Series AM3+

CPU: AMD 960T Black Edition 3.0GHz Socket AM3 8MB L2 Cache

RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F4 320GB Hard Drive - HDD

Optical Drive: Lite-On Internal 24x CD/DVD Drive

Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower

Power Supply: Cooler Master eXtreme 500 Watt

i'll post the usual OcUK questions:

whats the budget?
what are you going to be doing mostly with the PC?

i'll also give the usual suggestion of going for an intel sandybridge instead of an AMD phenom

if your gaming then i would suggest getting a much better video card.

however, with your budget im really struggling to fit it all in there. i really dont know how you managed to get all that stuff so cheaply (unless the graphics card is ~£50). the best overclockers can do for an equivalent build to your is £480

this is the best sandybridge rig i came up with:

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK ATI Radeon HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.98
1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £95.99
1 x Samsung SpinPoint F4 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD322GJ) £83.99
1 x Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
1 x MSI H61M-E33 Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard **B3 REVISION** £46.99
1 x Cooler Master Elite 430 Windowed Case - Black £39.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX) £19.98
1 x Samsung SH-S222AB/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.98
Total : £467.99 (includes shipping : £11.75).
using discount code CMdouble brings the total down to £447.99
(check the first few pages of the news section to find the thread about the discount)

i had no idea that this turned out cheaper than what it was supposed to be but its under £430 or maybe my maths skills is not good

ok

i'd remove those competitor links (and mentions). its against the forum rules. if you just say the price of the parts it'll do

also, going by those prices, id get this lot from OcUK, and the rest from elsewhere:

YOUR BASKET
1 x OcUK ATI Radeon HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.98
1 x Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £59.99
1 x **B Grade** MSI H67MA-E35 Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) **B3 REVISION** £44.98
1 x Cooler Master Elite 430 Windowed Case - Black £39.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX) £19.98
1 x Samsung SH-S222AB/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.98
Total : £295.99 (includes shipping : £11.75).

total with CMdouble discount = £275.99

the case and PSU deal might be cheaper at that competitor, but the PSU itself is rubbish, hence the change to the overclockers one

ive included the DVD drive from OcUK because i dont know how much your paying for the competitor one. the RAM from OcUK is better than the 1333Mhz stuff from crucial

ah ok then thanks for that warning but i just wanna know if my build will work properly if i actually did get it and i might get the parts your suggesting here and use those instead of the ones i said
and the pricing for the parts is:

MSI 970A-G45 AMD 9 Series AM3+ = 72.9

AMD 960T Black Edition 3.0GHz Socket AM3 8MB L2 Cache = 75.2

Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz) = 20.39

EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti = 103.86

Samsung Spinpoint F4 320GB Hard Drive - HDD = 67.58

Lite-On Internal 24x CD/DVD Drive = 13.98

Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower + Cooler Master elite 500 Watt = 67.18
