Right, the build is finally getting moving again:D
I have a motherboard that i bought about 6 months ago, the asus p7p55d-e
I've just bought a Thermaltake Xaser III case which came with a Antec Trupower 2.0 550w PSU (i know its an old psu I change it when I get some more cash)
For the rest of the build I was looking at getting

how does this sound??

also I need a cpu cooler any idea's
can anyone do it cheaper or better

It all looks good. My chief suggestion would be to swap the RAM for Corsair XMS3, as Corsair are particularly well-liked around here, and not much more expensive.

Is there a reason for having 2 F3s? Please tell me you're not putting them in Raid 0.

Also, if you're not short on USB ports, you can get a USB wireless network adapter for half that price.

must have double clicked it :)
also think i'd like the wireless card built in, will keep the place tidier
will change the ram
Is the graphics card ok, there are so many 460's to choose from

Basic question is what are you using the computer for/what do you intend to use it for?

CPU coolers, I'd probably recommend one of the following:
Titan Fenrir Evo
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Akasa Venom

All depend on how much you're willing to spend really, the Titan I think is pretty much most recommended around here, but might be worth checking some reviews.

I might also suggest you switch over to ATI for graphics depending on your future intentions, as your Motherboard supports Crossfire but not SLI - possibly something to think about, however in all honesty my knowledge of ATI isn't great, and if you were looking at this path you might want to ask someone else for advice :) - Never the less the single 460 you have should be more than capable, for a long time yet, and the one you chose is perfectly fine :)

Next question would be, it seems you have 2 1TB drives... are you particularly in need of the space? I think most people would be fine on 1, but again, without knowing too much what you're using the computer for, can't really help out. - Realised this has already been covered - damn you're quick xD

And yeah agree with the switch to the Corsair Ram

You also seem to be missing an optical drive? But expect this is probably just because you have one already? :)

already have the optical drive and sound card
I dont think i'll be cross-firing as the mb aint great for running two cards though it could a t a push not sure what sli is??
the 2 hd's was a typo
its gonna be a gaming rig

SLI is for Nvidia what Crossfire is for ATI, however yeah even so, your single 460 should keep you sorted for some time, especially as, as you say the MB isn't fantastic at running two cards.

build is fine.

SLI is the same as Crossfire, the use of multiple graphic cards.

But as you say its a bit pants with the second slot running at a slower speed when two cards are inserted.

have i missed anything??
