Thanks to OUK and its forum I have purchased:

I7 D0 920
Gigabyte X85A - UD3R Motherboard
Antec True Power 750W
Noctua NH-D14
2 Samsung F1 500GB
1 Sata DVD RW
HIS 5850
Coomermaster 690 2
2 Fractal Fans - One installed the other still boxed.
Artic Silver 5 Paste
6GB OCZ memory

---------------

Few thoughts:
Case:

Awesome case. Seems to be various spacious and teh cable management system does work. However, the cables behind the back panel will look ugly, but that's irrelevant as it wont interfere with air flow and not be seen.

Does have some unnecessary things like external sata and I've taken those cables out.

Noctua Fan:

Computer I am using is a AMD 3500 with artic Freezer. I've had this for five years and I think this fan is huge...until I saw the box and started to un box the Noctua beast. This thing is massive!!!

Does cause a couple of problems with regards to cable placement, but perseverance and can be sorted.

Motherboard:

Read many articles stating that Marvel connectors are rubbish for raid, so I have attached them to the ICHR10R. Otherwise looks very hi tech, and very impressive.

PSU:

Quite disappointed in this. It's partially modular and all the cables I need are fully attached to the PSU. Maybe my fault for not fully exploring this PSU before purchase, but I am sure it's quality and with the Coolermaster case teh cables can be hidden more or less.

Advice Needed:

Okay I do have few queries:

UD3R Motherboard:

1) The manual states that it has a NB Fan connector for the Northh Bridge, I see no fan on the Northbridge, so is this the socket for a fan placed on the side of the chassis?

2)Is the below okay to do?
a) One Noctua Fan to the CPU socket
b) Other Noctual Fan to the PWR socket
c)Used a Y cable to attach the two fans on top of the Coolermaster (one stock fan and ohter is a Fractal fan) to one socket on the motherboard.
d)I have attached two other fans to the other two sockets on the motherboard.

3) Fractal Fans have come with rubber mounts, how do these work?? I've just used screws to screw it in.

4) I have a rear fan, two top fans and one front fan. I've only added the fractal fan at the top so that I have two to get heat out of the system. I have another Fractal 120MM fan and wondered where that could go in the case. Either on the bottom to pull air into the case or on the side to expel or bring air into the case.

5) I have a fan infront of two hard drives, at the front of the case bringing air into the case.. Wont that end up blowing warm air into the case if HD's get hot?

Thanks for any assistance.

i believe these are just to help with vibration, they'd be placed between the fan and the case if you were getting any unwanted vibration-i may be corrected on this tho by some1 else.

you could place the fan on the side as an intake or outlet fan. just depends if your case needs more cool air coming in or whether it needs to dump more hot air out-i'd suggest an intake fan. you could also possibly mount it the the spare bays beneath your cd/dvd drive. i've a similar case and have an intake fan here blowing cool air str8 at the cpu heatsink. or can you use the fan on the noctua to have it in push/pull?

+1 For the Antec, they are made by Seasonic, which are very very good quality, you wont go wrong in its case

Mine says that too (EX58-UD5), it's just a standard bit of text from all motherboards. The Mobo has no NB fan requirement

Sounds fine but be aware that high current draw fans (high speed ones) could fry the motherboard. Don't go buying deltas or anything!

You might want to think about a fan controller to control all your case fans and just have the CPU cooled by the motherboard headers.

The Fractal fan I found comes with little black grommets that are first pulled through the case hole and then through the screw hole in the Fan casing.

I usually use a pair of pointy nose pliers to pull the rubber silicone material through the holes.

Once mounted correctly the vibrations from fan to case will be significantly reduced. This sort of thing needs to be done with every fan really for there to be much point. OCUK sell them http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-001-AF&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat= O/S atm though.

That's a lot of fans. You probably don't need them all. You might want to swap out Coolermaster stock fans and replace with far superior Fractal fans to reduce noise a bit. Side fans interrupt airflow through the case. Unless you have serious overheating graphics card issues then it's probably best to block these holes up, by the way that's just my thought on these side vents.

5) I have a fan infront of two hard drives, at the front of the case bringing air into the case.. Wont that end up blowing warm air into the case if HD's get hot?

Hard drives don't get that hot that they'd warm up a stream of air enough to cause much of an issue. Not exactly sure how much heat a Hard Drive dissapates but surely it can only be a few watts of heat.

stock fans are a little noisy but not too bad i have two of those cases btw very happy with them

i'm finding the top esata port very useful + the top hdd bay
