So yeah my first proper build and heres my kinda journey through for those that might be interested (not many i'll assume!)
please note : these photos were taken with my iphone 4... the pic quality is pretty terrible!! the 2 newer photos at the bottom were taken with my new HTC sesnsation xl , much better photos!
So i got my parts the day after i ordered (even with an OCed bundle! yay!!), huge thanks so managed to get the stuff home on my lunch break and stacked up nicely for a picture like this...
Sorry overclockers, but i got the monitor elsewhere :/ (was 129.99 for 23inch packard bell LED monitor, too big a bargain!) however rest ordered from OC
So i cleared my work space (Actually.. my coffee table) and looked out tools, and more importantly some munch (haribo starmix and a bag of chicken sensation crisps!)
Unfortunately i had to go back to work, and time came to a stand still im sure. Fortunately i had 2 hours to take back from the stock take i had did at the weekend soooo half past 3 - get in!!
So i got back and quickly got all the boxes opened up and prepared, firstly putting in my PSU and Extra case fans,
So already i was getting a bit worried, as the actual size of the ati 9650 was worryingly large! however i plodded on, taking forever to figure out what to do with the CPU cooler etc, however i figured it out and managed to fit everything in .... now, the pic takes a bit of a jump from putting fans in to... well... putting everything into it!! Sorry about that i was just too focused on the actual build itself and forgot about taking pics!
My girlfriend had just arrived home at this point, so was quite releived to have most of it done so i wouldnt get asked questions like "what does that bit do?" etc, so i quickly plugged it in to make sure my parts were all working, and it glowed.... oh it glowed alright!
So it powered on, so all that was really left was to plug all my bits into it and see if it actually did load anything up - like it did! (Im afraid i dont really have a cool looking battlestation, the make up etc isnt mine either. Slippers etc under the PC... oh god! to think im only 26?!)
So there you go, my 1k budget pc was built, and it was loading up facebook fine which was the most important thing overall of course!
Jokes aside though, once i had all my stuff installed, drivers etc i decided to test out BF3, all settings to max and wow... not a single bit of lag etc and it is beautiful!!!
All in all, i absolutely love the white case - it goes nice with my white beats by dre headphones and my new white HTC sensation xl phone
So whats my next step?!?! Cable management i think, im sure you'll agree with looking at the photos! its a bloody mess
Also if anyone can quickly help , how do i check my Overclock is working fine? my PC crashed on windows installation and it might've reset my profile? Im not sure
anyway heres a couple of better pics of the pc for you, i'll get some benchmarks etc done eventually when i stop playing games!
Cheers for reading
