My Build ( No Asking For Adive)

Oh I LOVE the look of the new 8800 crads as you unwrap them for the first time, so big and chunky, and you know the power they hold!

Cool pictures, and nice rig you have there! Clocked ya E6600 yet? If so, what you get out of it so far? I cannot get beyond 3ghz stable... well, I can get 19hrs Orthos stable at 3.4ghz, but games crash randomly and I got boot failures every now and then, so 3ghz will do for now... gonna get a quad core when they drop in price abit!

EDIT: I see your pumping 3.4ghz out ya E6600, nice one! :)

Nice post & good build mate :)

God that gfx card is huge  my 6600 is a fraction of that size (and in power too).

Nice to see some close up pics of the gear we like to spend our hard earned cash on.

Yer agree, very helpfull to see those pictures. Thanks. The gfx is massive! Will one off those fit in a Lian PC7 ok?
Yep the 8800gts will fit fine.
As will the 8800GTX that is an inch and a half longer (iirc) so long the card and your harddrives don't line up (if you have the drive bay full of harddrives you have a problem)

Tempuratures dropped around 10 degrees after i removed the pci slots.

So , Theres a tip

Jay

Does that not increase the dust in the case quite a bit? Not that I can criticise, the side of my case has been off for months now which leaves loads of dust in there. :)

I done the exact same as jay and it isnt really worth taking the pci slots away due to the dust build up over time.

Nice pictures, very sharp and high quality. Wish people would share pictures on the hardware forums more. Very clean setup. Thanks for sharing :)

How does the CPU cooler perform?

i recon its better for air flow to leave pci slot covers on to keep pressure inside the case and air flow over chipset/cpu cooler

instead fit a Akasa System Exhaust Blower in the pci slot derectly below, and its only £3.50

worked well to lower my case temps as the intake on the fan aligns perfectly with the vent on the back (sticker) side of my 8800 gtx

The cooler is very good , Just a cheap £16 cooler , Idle temps are 30 Degrees And really only 50 Max with Orthos .. So a Goood Cooler !
