Hi all

I have saved some money [ok using the credit card again!] and now about to buy some stuff. Building a sugo 01 that a got from Tute.
I'd like to know if my old Enermax 485w is good enough for the job.

My specs are:
  1. SilverStone Nitrogon NT06-Lite

    [*]E2180
[going to 'try' and clock it to 3ghz]

    [*]Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R Micro ATX

    [*]GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra
[ is this ram good enough to clock? [my get 4gb and run vista not 100% sure but it is so cheap]]
I think that it.

Going to keep my 2 hdd and msi 7900 gto.

Cheers Mobo

Looks good, id go for Crucial ballistix over the Geil ram.
Psu will fine tho its worth getting a modular.

Your PSU should be fine unless you are going to run some heavy duty graphics card like a 8800 GTX and a quad core CPU.

Actually thats a point it only has a 80mm fan, which could affect the performance of the CPU cooler which is designed to work with a 120mm fan pulling air out of the case.

Get a 520W Corsair modular if you can stretch to it.

the psu should be ok assuming its got a 120mm fan on the underside as its needed for the nt06.

Would this cope with a quad core, as i'd probably get one in the future?

If i had to get another psu i'd prob get a silverstone one: SilverStone Strider ST60F 600w PSU

Ive just changed a few components in my build , gone from an enermax to the corsair 520 which powers my overclocked quad just fine & the quality of the psu and supplied bits is first class :)

OK update my spec to this:

  1. [*]520W Corsair HX Series Modular PSU
    [*]Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180
    [*]Silverstone SST-NT06 Lite NT06 w/o 120mm fan
    [*]2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400
    [*]Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R iG33 Express

More questions (!)

Is the motherboard & ram good enough to push the cpu to 3ghz?

Yes, although RAM choice is far more important with that board than the P5K-VM as it doesn't have a 1:1 memory divider, but it should be good for 3GHz.

Hi All

Quick up date on build, I got Corsair TwinX 2GB DDR2 6400 memory in the end and everything was delivered yesterday.

I must say i was very surprised with the size of the cooler it's massive :D and it took me a bit of time to get the correct bracket on to it.

I have only 1/2 assembled at the moment have put on cpu, cooler, ram, front usb's 1993 IEE ,power cables from chassis, card read and optical driver. I am liking the size of the sugo s01 cannot foresee any problems with motherboard cables, though do not like the layout of the bios reset, as it will be hard to reset the bios when overclocking.

Will up date later.
