Hi,

I have an Antec 300 case and the top fan is to cold and makes me chilly when I'm trying to work. I don't want to unplug it as I don't want my cpu to overheat. catch22....

lol, you need to overclock your CPU and graphics and get some warm air coming out of there! :D

Alternately just turn the fan onto the lowest setting (these have a 3 setting switch at the back IIRC). If cold air is coming out I doubt there is any danger of anything overheating.

If you have a decent intake fan running (along with the exhaust fan already fitted) and a decent cooler you might get away with disconnecting the top fan. I don't have the top fan running on my system and my temps are fine. It depends on your system to be honest but I have never needed to use the top fan on mine.

My PC = my radiator.

I need a tower fan next to the darn thing during summer.

This is why people are crazy to worry about the energy consumption of their computers during the winter. You are paying to heat your house anyway so its all good. Ditto for filament bulbs. :D

if it uses a 3 pin connection its easy to lower the speed, if its a molex connecter i think ur screwed unless it has onboard buttons w.e

not at all, v=i*r, r=v/i, thus as your fans have rated votage/current values, you can work out what resistor to add to the power cable and reduce it that way ;)
