Right, this is my case. Basically i have had the same case for years now, its not the best case in the world but the build quality is actually very good, air flow isnt the best (2 x 80mm front + back and 1 x 80 on the side). Its also abit small on the inside so cable managment is dificult. But i like it :).

The case is not OTT like other cheapy nasty cases out there and should hopefully - look nice with what i have in mind.

Sorry for the low res pics (K750I) Will use my proper camera next time.

Im thinking about painting it all matt black, the side window will just be the plain perspex with the 80mm fan left in the middle - would it be possable to place another 80mm fan to the left of it? How does perspex cut - cracking? Does masking tape eliminate this problem.

The Front - again all matt black, mesh where the floppy bays are? - switch to all my drives to SATA to try and make more room inside the case - no IDE. - Remove other 2 CD covers and mesh again? Leaving the 4 front lights in, i like them :)

Any thoughts/ideas on this?

Will get cracking on it asap.

80mm because 120 dosnt fit :)

I have UV cathodes, my PSU is all UV and mobo has some UVish things on it when its all lite up. Blue/Matt black will be nice :P

Edit

Whats the best way to cut the side panel? I know a dremal is good but i dont have one :D - Hack saw then sand down? Time consumeing and harder but thats 1 thing i do have :P

Hole saw is the best method, it's just an attachment for a drill. (For the fan)

Dremel or Jigsaw if you can get one for the side.

I got loads of jig saw blades/circle cutters around - my dads trade which helps.

Will try and cut it out 2morrow / at the weekend :)

For the straight edge of the case (where the perspex window will go) use a jigsaw with the correct blade.

For the fan hole in the perspex use a hole cutter like Raikiri stated! I'd definately go for a 120mm if you can... much quieter! ;)

Good luck with it!

What he said :D

ok hmm - converting that 80mm hole into a 120mm hole :S plenty of masking tape yea? Obviously it will split/crack/get hot and melt?

Masking tape over the entire cutting area will help.

When cutting 'cordlessly' i've used both water and a little oil to lubricate and cool the cut.

Might be worth doing as you don't want it to start melting like you say! :)

Hmm it is tempting.

Do you think it would look alright in matt black? - I'll probably start spraying the side panel tomorrow aswell so exspect some more pics.

(Will resize + add images to the page properly when i have time)

Maybe you could incorporate a fan into the window rather than just cutting a hole... seen this done on a few centurion cases and it looks good.

Oh and metallic black + clear lacquer for the win ;)

Nobody said gloss black?

However... this:

Is how gloss black can look if you do a proper job ;)

Hmm im not to sure about the glossy look :S

The 80mm fan is ideal for me because my NB runs very hot and it just gives it abit of airflow, aswell as the RAM + provideing the CPU fan with some extra air to.

Maybe a 120mm at the top? sucking air in. - i could possably mod a 120 fan into 2 spare DVD bays?.

Air intake is my biggest problem. My pc is under my desk in a corner (corner desk) which means very little air is actually entering the case. The 2 front 80mm fans provide some cooling for the HDD's bringing them down 7degrees+ but there is no front intake as such.
