As well as my main PC I also have an old Dell as backup PC - At moment it isn't driving my 5 yr old LG monitor very well ( it has HDMI -DVI -VGA) so I have decided to build a new very cheap PC - Budget is no more than £100

This PC will only be used on net and emails

I have the monitor - Sata HD and one yr old DVD RW both in the Dell.

I can get a ATX midi tower for £20 and PSU off OC for £16- £20 so say £40 of my £100 is accounted for.

I have a few new fans floating round and can use the software (W7) I use in Dell.

So all I need is a Motherboard and CPU - This is where I am stuck - I think for the remaining £60 I am looking at AMD FM2 or earlier - I also need on board graphics on Motherboard.

Can anyone please recommend a suitable mob and CPU

This is where another 300 posts would have come in handy for MM

go 2nd hand (off the bay).
tbh, why not try getting a cheap gpu and sticking it in the dell, see how it goes. depending on which dell it is, you may get away with being able to upgrade the gpu

you could get the following

APU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-380-AM

Motherboard - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-221-MS

I don't know how to do the linking to the basket like everyone else as relatively new to the website but comes to £68.58, £8 of that is delivery.

this APU includes a built in GPU in to the processor which I looked at originally to build a budget PC for my son to play minecraft on.

failing that if the Dell PC is ok then you can just get a cheap GPU, I got a £20 one from OCK and there is some other decent cards as well for about £50

I would like to keep the Dell case as it's quite sturdy and bays swing out but the Motherboard is on other side to all other cases and CPU is fixed at 45 deg angle - I believe these were Dell specials.

I might have to up the budget as forgot memory sticks but thanks for links and info - I now know what I am looking for -- I get free delivery from OC anyway.

Also only 20 mile drive to shop.
