Last night, was testing out some bitcoin mining on 2 out of 3 of my gpu's (3rd one turned off on the board) and then I went for a cig and a shower, came back to see that my monitors were off and I assumed something had crashed.
Good news, PC didnt "crash"
Bad news, a tube had popped off my rad on my GPU loop after being fine for months. Carpet covered in lovely black/uv blue fluid.
Ordered new fluid to arrive tomorrow.
What I am wondering is, since I know that the GPU's have thermal shutdown etc that works if they edge up to a certain temperature, but does anyone know the likely hood that they managed to turn off and not kill themselves if they suddenly lose cooling while at 100% load?
Dont want to have to buy some more 480s
