Ok fix the following lines... preferably disabling windows restore first...

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bits Show] C:\DOCUME~1\Family\APPLIC~1\CDROMB~1\hidedumbanti. exe

O9 - Extra button: Run IMVU - {d9288080-1baa-4bc4-9cf8-a92d743db949} - C:\Documents and Settings\Family\Start Menu\Programs\>IMVU\Run IMVU.lnk (file missing)

Make sure your homepage isset correctly.

Now download and install Spywareblaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html and enable full protection... it's completely passive and will stop 99.9% of crud from getting a foot-hold on your PC, especially hijackers.

Any better? :)

Google is your friend dude, all you have to type in is "disable system restore" and it'll bring up a bazillion guides. :)

And yeah, just tick the box next to all the ones then click the "fix checked" button, that'll nuke the wee bizzatches. :)

I prefer to keep it off personally, using it can cause more problems than it solves, it tends to break things. :)

How many problems will i encounter if i leave it off?

Will it effect anything at all?

agree, i'm the same, but he prob not as savy as some. ( no offence to OP)

I used to be but then i kind of lost interest in computers for while and dropped a bit of knowlesge really :o :(

Ive still got it there :(

Still%20there.JPG

I hate what even is causing it, i cant even right click and delete them so im assuming its very bad :(

Its the only visable sign of spyware i can find on my computer and nothing will detect it :(

Richdog said:
So it's your favourites that you can't delete?

Well thats they only spyware i can see at the moment.

I have IE all locked up and passworded so know one can use it because if just one Internet explorer page can open and load you will get 5 or 6 ads pop up and lock up the computer.
It even happens when i play games on Steam :(

And my computer runs like a dog when i play games on it aswell :(

Run Adaware followed by Spybot Search and Destroy - obviously not forgetting to update each program, before scanning. ;)

If that doesn't get rid of most of your rubbish, then it's time for a manual clean out.

Ive done them. Ive been trying for months and i make sure i update them before i use them.

Its just really getting bad and slowing the computer down a lot now and i still cant get them :(

Go to Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Del) and select the Processes tab, and make the window big enough to fit everything in the list. Take a screenshot, then post here. :)

Ok Zip, go into safe mode, delete your favourites directly form the My Documents folder, re-boot into normal windows and then try re-running hijackthis and post it.
