Hi

I bought a new motherboard last week (Abit fatal1ty aa8xe) I then installed it and the rest of my components and went to switch on the computer the computer started up but did not make it to the bios and all I got was a blank screen, I tried it again and still powers up but just a blank screen. I have checked all the components I can but cannot find a problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

My specs are:

Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE
Pentium D 805 2.66GHZ
PNY nvidia 9500gt
Hitachi Deskstar 500gb IDE
Setagate 160gb drive SATA
PNY 2GB RAM (2 1gb sticks)
Coolermaster Realpower 450w
Coolermaster Mystique 631
Phillips DVD RW drive

Hi

Thanks for the replies I took the board to a computer repair shop, the concluded that the southbridge was fried. I returned the board got a new one, but this time set it up the board on the motherboard box and got exactly the same problem. Now my cars broken down so I can't return the board or get it tested. I'd be grateful for any more ideas.

unlikely but could be a batch of boards that they bought together... its going to be a take back jobbie I think

Hi

The computer shop failed to find the true source of the problem; my power supply was spiking and was frying the boards making them unusable. I fried a few boards figuring out the problem.
