The default in Windows XP is to have the tiles shown in groups - this is under View > Arrange icons by > show in groups.

Depends what you class as normal view really but i think you just drop down this menu and select "tiles":

Fixed it now it was

view = tiles
arrange icons by type.

Don't know why it changed

Oops, forgot that step, choose View > Arrange icons by > Type as well.

mine has randomly changed like that on a couple of occasions now, no idea why.

mines done it too just a quick change back sorts them out for a while, i blame gremlins!

Me to, usually i remeber what the settings are to change it back, however my mind went blank today.

It once happened on the old pc and i tried every option but for some reason couldnt find it, next day got it first time! How the mind boggles!
