My cooler crapped out

I'm pretty sure the pump on my eco cool it unit has died so I need a replacement ASAP. I'll probably just go air this time. It will be cooling an old core 2 quad but I hope to upgrade at Christmas. not sure of budget, probably mid range, I want good cooling but cheaper is better. oh and im currently in a micro atx case, it's actually got good room for a cooler but something not too large just to be sure.

Could you give us a little more information than "mid range", "micro ATX" with "good room". Assuming your sig is what you have knowing what your budget is and what case you actually have will get us going.

well let's say 20-30 unless it's really worth spending more. And the case is da box by Lan gear. iI think most coolers should fit.

Think your CPU placement and RAM height may limit what will fit. CPU socket appears pretty close to edge of motherboard.

Probably have airflow from GPU toward side and maybe use a Thermalright True Spirit 120?

Never mind, the pump has randomly started working again! Hopefully it will survive until I upgrade. Thank you anyway.

If you google " DA BOX LAN GEAR" you get loads of images of D-14's etc in the case.

The CPU socket looks much closer to edge of motherboard on Maximus II GENE than most.. and much farther from PCIe slot. Not sure there is room for D-14 but might be.
