Hi all

So I've had Arctic p12 PWM fans in my case and they've been great, this morning I thought I'd swap them out for my Corsair AF120 Fans to add some light in the system however it didn't really go to plan... The fans are either really loud and run around 1400rpm but look nice and bright or they run quiet around 600rpm but have hardly any light.

Am I setting something wrong, I've sorted a nice fan curve for them but no point swapping my Arctics out if they aren't going to be bright and quiet

Any help appreciated

Cheers

They are less bright because you have lowered the speed on the fan you can get fans that don't do this like my corsair ml 140mm red led.

Ahhh I see.. I've put my Arctic ones back in, I think it's also because they're 3 pin DC fans and not PWM

It's probably because they are voltage controlled
So reduce voltage to fan reduces it to leds
Got some old silverstone air penetrators
That do that

Pain in the backside, I was hoping they'd be alright to brighten up my case, Looks like i'll need to buy some strips of LED

Yep
Would be nice if they simplified all the led stuff and stopped all the proprietory
Connectors
If getting a led strip double check if it needs the adapter to connect to motherboard

OK I'll check that and also check if it's 12v as that's the mistake I made the other day :p
