Hi guys,

As the weather is heating up i wanted to look into my computer to see if its overheating and figure out how to get around it. I got speedFan 4.51 and its currently identifying my cpu is at 127C (I7-4790K @:4.00ghz)

I only had this software for like 5mins but i was wondering if i could get some help with it.

Thanks,

Liam

When it reports this high, I would reboot, enter BIOS and check the reading from there. Also check if temp.warnings are enabled in the BIOS.

Then you can comfortably try other software ;)

Jeeezz, lol is the air coming out of the PC mental hot or could it be software error ? (i.e. if the air out of pc is mega hot, worry, if not, poss software error)

If there is something wrong with your cooling the air coming out won't be very hot. Still, sounds like a software error more than an actual fault

My guess is Speedfan is not detecting the sensors correctly and bugging out - this used to happen on my Sabertooth 990FX board and reported temps of 127*C there too.

Your PC would have shut down if it was actually that temp :p

It's obviously a bug.

127 is the largest value that an 8 bit signed integer can hold, and -128 is the smallest.

Thanks, guys. I ran my bios and it noted 30C and had a history of 40-50C when under load. i will look into HWmonitor, did a check on all my fans any everyhting last night, it all seems to be working well. i shall ditch speedfan in favour of HWmonitor as suggested.
